Dear Soul Shines,
It has been a while since I've blogged even though I have had so many inspirational things to share. For the first time in my life I have been "forced" to slow down by my body's metamorphosis through menopause... For me, it has been like being hit by a runaway train that cracked my heart and soul wide open so the world can see me inside out and totally naked. Definitely a time to get real. Real with myself and real with God. I'm almost sure he's gotten tired of me pulling on his shirt sleeve asking so many questions. When I make it through this transformation I will be a very wise woman with even wider open arms to embrace other women in this delicate space. Becoming a sage is worth all the pain. So much love to all of you!

Carol has Inspired me for so many years that I was delighted to see more of her in Print again, such an Iconic Styling Genius! Robin, I can relate. I'm now having horrid hot flashes. I can't even count them as "power surges!" Anyway, wearing your cool clothes helps. The lovely linens are lightweight, and allows me to feel comfortable. I hope that this powerful passage goes smoothly for you.
I saw your fashions come over my pinterest images and immediatly fell in love. I told my DH - that is the kind of style I love, then i went to your pages and said, that is the kind of life I want to live. I had been raised on homesteading while young, then ranches, and farms, and as an older adult, I feel a longing to go back to that kind of lifestyle. Your so blessed. I hope your move goes smoothly. I'll be reading your blog from now on - on a reg. basis.
Dear kindred spirit...
Doctor's visit yesterday..what to do with the never-ending hot flashes (leaving me a furnace, with my glasses fogged up) Just turned 51 on the 13th of November. In my mind I can't believe I'm there...at that number...but my body confirms daily, that it is so. Menopause/Metamorphosis...is truly a freeing experience, if you can think of it that way. I am more confident than ever before, not afraid to do something new..every single day, sometimes. The fatigue, though, won't let me fulfill all my passions at once, but maybe that's not a bad thing. I'm enjoying each new day for what it offers. Right now, it means sitting in front of the fire in our 1908 Victorian Cottage, crocheting tiny baby booties for a future grandchild, my niece in the rocker next to me (on break from college) and blessed quietness, but for the crackling fire.
You will be in my prayers and always know that you, my beautiful girl, are not alone on this journey ...
We have many lessons before we come to the end of life, and I'm finding they are richer and richer as we travel along.
I live in your clothes...they are comfort, as my body is ever-changing and shifting...and my friends and family have noticed that I have finally found the clothes that express my personality and my joy. Thank you for your creative spirit and lifestyle that is such inspiration.

Robin, you know that you are surrounded by so much love and support, but I well know that there are many times when you feel completely and utterly alone...bereft.
It's a rough journey, but you are making that metamorphosis from caterpillar into butterfly. Not always easy, sometimes painful, but never, EVER alone.
