Hi everyone,
As many of you know, John, Happy, and I are moving to Fredericksburg, TX., and though we have shed many tears about leaving our little paradise here in the hills of Bandera, TX., Fredericksburg is a long awaited dream finally coming true. I have wanted to live there since I was a child. I even dreamt about being a peach farmer! We purchased a German homestead from the 1800's with rock houses and barns - tons of new projects, photo shoots, and another book opportunity! I am so grateful for this amazing blessing which brings me to my point of this blog; GRATITUDE...
As I get older, worrying seems to be a constant companion to the point it has affected my daily life, so I'm always on a path of enlightenment to expand my awareness in hopes of a "cure". I guess I could call my worrying a gift as it has brought me much awareness and learning, but not a cure yet! One of the lessons that has helped me so much was watching Tony Robbins on Oprah's Life Class last night and he said, " I think gratitude is the most spiritual and most important emotion of them all. It's the antidote to the two things that stop us which are fear and anger. Fear is why we don't take action and anger is why we get stuck. You can't be grateful and angry simultaneously, so it's really the reset button. It's the cleaner of the soul. What it does when you are grateful, 'It's no longer about me, right?' It's really about giving thanks, and when you are giving thanks, you disappear and when you disappear, I believe you reconnect to the divine."
Then he had everyone do his "Emotional Flood Exercise" where you put your hands over your heart, close your eyes, and go on a journey of things you are grateful about. First you physically feel your heart beating and breathe into your heart. Feel the power of you heart and the strength of your heart. Feel grateful for your heart and what it has guided you to do in this life, to give and to be. You didn't have to buy this heart, you didn't have to earn it, something thought enough of you to give you this gift of life without doing anything, instantly when you are born. As long as it beats, you are alive. Now step into a moment, into your life that you can feel deep feelings of gratitude for..... Wow, this exercise went on for several minutes and I was sobbing - I still am. Talk about pushing the reset button!!!! I thought I was grateful but learned there is so much room for more. I guess as long as we are alive there is always room for more! I am now chanting my gratitude mantra when I find myself deep in the throws of my worries. I encourage you to do this exercise with Tony on YouTube - Search "Tony Robbins Emotional Flood Exercise". I'd love to hear how it affects you too.
I am thankful and grateful for each and every one of you.
I will be posting pictures of our new homestead and the progress soon.
                        Love, Pearl.

“When it's over, I want to say: all my life
I was a bride married to amazement.
I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.
When it is over, I don't want to wonder
if I have made of my life something particular, and real.
I don't want to find myself sighing and frightened,
or full of argument.
I don't want to end up simply having visited this world.”
-Mary Oliver

I was thinking the other day about how sometimes our business can feel like a sink hole, like we never get enough done. I sat with God and had a conversation with Him. Told Him that I have enough to do trying to take care of those I love, that I don't need to be in this prison of worrying whether the orders are out, we're ready for the next sale, if the profit margins are enough to pay the bills. I wasn't really asking for help, just complaining for a while. When I paused my mental argument for moment a Bible story came to my mind of Paul and Silas in jail and how they sang and worshiped. And God broke them out. So singing gratitude to Him is helping me break the chains of worry this week.

Thanks for your precious post. Can't wait to see your new place.

Blessings... Polly

I love how you express your spiritual awareness. Yes, gratitude is a magical balm for the soul, it is like a feng shui for emotions, it sets everything right and things then run better. I haven't done TR's way, but I gratitude has become my daily spiritual practice...it is the only "Prayer" I now know. I'm experiencing big changes since I decided to beautify everything around me. I understand it is my purpose in this life. It has even cured my housemates depression and this is truly miraculous. And you Robin have been the one who gave me "permission" to go all out to my own unique personal path and run on it without looking back. Deep Namaste to you.....you have been my muse. blessings, Lady

Living with beauty of your own choosing makes you beautiful. Having and expressing gratitude for everything is a prayer of thanks.
You have, in a single blog post, given a lot of folks a gift that will lift them up out of the expectation that life only needs to give them the right thing and they will be happy. You blog is making a difference.
Thank you.
Love your lifestyle and your way of looking at the world. Can't wait to see the photos of Fredricksburg, TX.

Hello Robin,

I only discovered MP a couple of months ago and have been absorbing all of it including your book into my heart and soul ever since.
Thank you for being so gorgeous and divine. You inspired me to fling away my hesitations and just run into life with armfulls of joy to share like rose petals in the wind.

I think we have been given the gift of being the creator of our lives on all levels. And that, thank goodness, means if we just trust then we create a world that reflects that trust. So there is no need to worry over anything.

Big peachy hug to you from where I am in Australia.

iedDearest Robin.
I love, love, love the Elsie de Wolfe quote and have made it my personal purpose. So funny when I looked at the date of your post (I'm just reading it today 7/13), I realized it was about the same day I discovered Elsie's quote! You are such a blessing and inspiration to so many people. I did the Flood exercise in the living room of my tiny cottage on Tybee during Oprah's episode... all alone in the house, tears streamed down my face. The things that came to mind were some memories I hadn't thought of in years. What a life-changing practice to be grateful daily. So grateful to be connected to you!

These paths are clearing even as you write. I can see it. The worry does come from fear and gratitude erases fear because you stop believing it is the end. I use Byron Katie's The Work because one of the first things she emphasizes is that she is not the "cure" you questioning your thinking is, everytime. I have peace now. When I don't, I do The Work on it, friend. It is my happy solution. I can't tell you how happy I am for you! Congrats on the new home!!! Blessings always!

When I reached my late 40's the worry and anxiety came out of nowhere, totally blindsided me. I said every prayer, repeated every mantra, and tried every alternative healing route. I just wanted to be my happy go lucky self again. Finally found something that worked for me... all our paths are different. Now I wake up with not one single worry or fear, life is peaceful again! No one understands what a blessing that is until they go through something like this.My hope is for you to find that peace again and quickly! It will come. Bless you for your honesty ,beauty and love.
