Hi beautiful women,
If it was over ( life as we know it, that is ) would we be satisfied that we "lived" life, really "lived" life? Sometimes I tell myself "this is it", today is all that is left! Do I need to mend some fences? Do I need to tell someone that I love them or say I'm sorry? As I approach 46 ( next month), I know I need to live less afraid, love less afraid, and go for it! What am I saving life for? You know how you save your "good" pair of shoes for church? When it's all said and done, those shoes sit perfectly in their box without a scratch. Well, not me! I want to use this body, soul, and spirit until it's tattered to perfection like an old piece of Victorian velvet. I'm on my way to put more laugh lines around my eyes while I love, live, laugh, give, cry, listen, and embrace fearlessly!
Love to all of you,
Pearl

That's exactly what the pastor preached on Sunday. It does get you to thinking doesn't it. Live life to it's fullest with no regrets and say you're sorry if you need to! Always say I love you to those that you do love because it may be the last chance you get.

I just spent the day with a friend who shares this same philosophy and it completely mine, as well. I am going to feature this on my blog with the link so every person who peeks at my little place can feel the light you shed dear. You keep scattering that love and we will keep being ever so appreciative. Blessed to know of you dear, that I am...

I just discovered you and your wonderful talent. Beautiful, gorgeous, lovely and every other wonderfully positive word that I can think of. You remind so much of an incredible woman - my Aunt Cher - who taught me so much in her too short life. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom and talent. I am a fan. I will keep you in the light. Dear Robin,I love the look of the clothes and bags you design and the feelings of joy that those who see them have. I have read your book over and over because it gives me a bit of beauty to get me through. It's very encouraging too, to help others find their own creative niche, but how do you get to a place where you are so free to wear something that is so uniqe and not worry about what others think? Keep on doing whaterver you,re doing ,you have no idea the impact you are making in this world. Thanks for being you.

Oh and by the way, would it be possible to put the 2008 fall video on you-tube? I can't seem to access it and I love watching the others so I'm hoping you can. Thanks bunches.

I bought your book recently and cannot put it down. It is completely inspiring and beautiful. I have followed your work since first seeing it in Home Companion in 2003. Your book has made me believe that, at 46, I can 'finally' be myself and decorate how I want to. Can you imagine taking 46 years to realize what your 'style' is??!! I still feel that I have 'lived' life nonetheless, but perhaps not to the fullest. Now is the time to move forward. Please continue the wonderful work you do and art you create and know that you are an inspiration to so many of us. Christine, Vancouver, BC, Canada

I turn 42 next month (Sept 26) and feel exactly the same way ... *VIVA LA VITA* ...

Wear your heart on your sleeve; tell people how you feel; love with all you've got; live like there's no tomorrow.

You are just so inspiring in your words...thank you for confirming that we do need to live today, and breathe today, and wear our church shoes TODAY! Since losing both my parents 4 months ago, 2 weeks apart, my soul is learning to let go, enjoy every moment, tell people you love them and laugh, laugh ,laugh and thank our mighty Lord for all the beautifull-ness in our lives! You are a blessing Pearl!

Thanks for the inspiring words! I'm going to put on my Sunday shoes, use the guest-only towels, and sit on the 'Avon Lady' couch! (a little joke from when we were growing up.)

Happy early birthday.... Maggie

Turning 40 tomorrow and I've been thinking along these very same lines. I posted something similar last week (http://countingyourblessings.blogspot.com/2009/07/vintage-heart.html) but I like how you said it better. =)

Greetings Robin!!

I'm not sure if you get back to read your older post's new comments but if you do this expresses my thoughts on how to live life!! :)

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sidways, chocolate in one hand, latte in the other, totally worn out screaming WOOO HOOO WHAT A RIDE!!" :c} author: unknown

This little reminder is on all my emails and rides on the side of my blog ;)

Just thought I would share this with you. Have a most audacious today!!

I am so amazed by you. I always pop over here to see what you're doing, what you're creating, how you're living. YOU are my inspiration. I can't thank you enough for sharing your age with me. I have looked at you and thought many, many times that if i were younger - like you! - I too, would wear the wonderful romantic clothes you wear, or let loose and be as 'free to be who I am' as you are. But no. "Pearl" is only in her early 20's, so it would be ridiculous for someone MY age to look like that...YOU HAVE MADE MY DAY!! I have wasted too many days not being me....TODAY, I will live my life as me...not as society thinks I should live/look/love, etc. - thanks to you.
((huge sigh of relief)
